Why is calculating checkmate so difficult? It only requires checking that the king can’t move to 8 spots which in turn requires checking that all the opponent’s pieces can’t move to those spots. The 6.7m gas limit for this isn’t enough? (or perhaps 4.7m at time of writing?)
