I’m trying to work out if I ever use the F keys for things other than changing brightness/sound on my mac.

Esc I use occasionally, but you’ll work away around it… One key doesn’t make or break a computer.

And the current MacBook Pros are pretty fast. Not really sure what you’re complaining about TBH. But you got enough likes so well done.
